This week I am joined by Curtis Childs who is a follower of the mystic and philosopher Emanuel Swedenborg. Swedenborg was a prominent scientist of the 18th century who began to have visions which sound exactly like those exactly like those experienced when taking DMT or other psychedelic substances.

#9 The Shamanic Apprentice - with Markham Jenkins from Marosa

How does someone become a shaman? Is it possible for someone from western society, and what kind of sacrifices do you need to make from your "normal" life?
Its that kind of questions that I asked to Markham Jenkins who is an apprentice shaman at Marosa Ayahuasca Center in Peru. Markham has spent multiple months working with ayahuasca and numerous other master plants in order to follow the shamanic path, and in this video he shares his story of how he got here.

James W Jesso is an author, and creative talent behind Adventures Through The Mind YouTube channel and podcast. When I put the call out to people I should talk to a lot of people suggested James - and I am very glad they did because he was a great guest, and I hope that this will be the first of many such conversations.
Unsurprisingly we talk about psychedelics (duh), various other medicines like kambo, and our respective journeys through this human experience - even covering painful moment such as loss and heartbreak.

This video is my conversation with Chet Zar, who spent 20 years working as a horror special effects expert on Hollywood films like Hellboy and The Ring, before working with the band Tool on the music videos for Schism and Vicarious, as well as the visual FX for their live stage show. Chet currently runs The Dark Art Society which is a collective of horror artists, and he also hosts the Dark Art Society Podcast.
